I haven’t done this in a while, so it’s not quite Wordless, but I’m going to be doing this every Wednesday. Be it an iPhone shot or a full on edited DSLR, it will make an appearance here.
I got a lot of comments on this yesterday and thought I would repost it here:
This is4-5 days of Paleo groceries. It cost $270. About 90% is either organic, local or both. Anyone who says eating this way can be cheap isΒ dreaming.Β Especially if there is any kind of fitness or strength training going on. The kind of calories burned in a CrossFit workout requires serious refueling. It’s hard work to keep our bodies fueled with the best, but we’ll keep trucking along under the notion that paying astronomical prices now will save us from future suffering and pain.
I’d still say its worth it!
it is a lot of money, but high quality products are worth it we feel, even though it is hard to see that $$ ,we tell ourselves eating good quality food will be worth in the end
Haha so true! I do get tired of you can eat organically on the cheap. You do have to make a commitment (financially and otherwise) to eating local and organic. The benefits will hopefully outweigh the costs though.
Thanks for your honesty!
I buy my fruits and veggies at a local farmer stand. Right now, with a family, buying everything organic at the grocery store would be really expensive. We try to balance things and eat less meat. Eventually I may have more money to buy every single item organic. Congrats to you for doing so π
You’re absolutely correct that eating organically is expensive. I think though that the extra costs each week are more than balanced out by the enhanced quality of life you will have.
Wow, and I thought I bought a ton of fruits and vegetables. You put me to shame. Now I need to go to the grocery store and stock up on healthy stuff.
