There are a few things in life that are pure bliss. Most of mine involve chocolate, doughnuts or a perfect lift. But there are also these fun little drupals known as coconuts. I’m sure you are all aware of my book, Cooking with Coconut Oil, whicch spreads the love for the magical oil you can press from it’s flesh, but the coconut offers much and more from it’s wonderful hanging “fruits”. The “water” inside of a coconut is sterile and matches human electrolyte balance very closely, which is why it was used in the Pacific War by both sides as emergency plasma transfusions for wounded soldiers.
