Nate,

I believe the difference is that Chowder is usually a thick soup containing potato and bacon amongst other things, whereas Cioppino is merely a fish stew, traditionally, using up all the leftover seafood of the day. No potatos or bacon in Cioppino.

So, the difference between cioppino and a chowdah is how big the pieces of seafood are?

Whatever you call 'em, I love 'em both. Nice job!

What a wonderful version of cioppino! Even with all of the unsavory offerings on B.C. Ferries, an order of fries with a ladleful of gravy was always a treat as a kid.

Hi Liz! Your "welcome back" was as hardy and warming as this cioppino. Your food looks incredible, as always, and I want to dive face first into that pile o' bacon.
